Wednesday 20 November | 7.30pm | Eleto Chocolate Cafe, Rendezvous Street, Folkestone
Poetry performance by Poets' Corner members Dave Horn, Faith Warn and Anthony White, followed by open stage.
Reflecting on one of the themes of this year's Folkestone Book Festival, we invite you to read poems inspired by H.G. Wells' idea that 'Our true nationality is humankind'.
Please feel free to interpret the theme in any way - to agree or disagree, to take it international or bring it back to local or even personal. As ever, perform your own work or a poem you admire.
The author H.G. Wells lived in Folkestone and the idea of him walking along the Leas, looking across the Channel and thinking about identity has a resonance today, as does much of his writing.
Let's have a great evening pondering our identity and sharing our poetic humanity! All are welcome, whether to share your work or to enjoy the words of others.
Poets' Corner is dedicated to sharing poetry with the Folkestone community through street and cafe performances and regular open stage meetings.
