Open call for LGBTQIA+ artist, Folkestone & Hythe
Quarterhouse are delighted to announce a new collaboration with The Marlborough Theatre in Brighton to support an LGBTQIA+ artist based in or around Folkestone and Hythe, working in theatre, live art or interdisciplinary performance.
This opportunity is specifically for an LGBTQIA+ artist early in their career or whose practices may have been overlooked, who feel they are not currently connected to a professional or LGBTQIA+ artist network.
The artist will receive a £1000 participation fee, mentoring sessions with leading practitioners and an opportunity to see live work in a new location.
A tailored package of support from Quarterhouse, ]performance s p a c e [ and Marlborough Theatre will also be available.
All applicants should be outside of education and training and have delivered at least one documented project to a public audience. The minimum age requirement is 18 years old and the deadline for applications is Saturday 14 July.
This opportunity is part of Marlborough Theatre’s New Queers on The Block project building a new network for LGBTQIA+ performance in the UK. This project is developed in collaboration between the Marlborough Theatre, Quarterhouse and ]performance s p a c e [, and is supported by Jerwood Charitable Foundation and Arts Council England.
