Sorry, this event has sold out

William Shaw has written four crime novels, all set in Dungeness and featuring DS Alex Cupidi: ‘Salt Lane', 'Deadland', 'Grave’s End’ and ‘The Trawlerman.’ He discusses the importance of Dungeness in these books and the role of place and atmosphere in crime fiction.

William Shaw has been shortlisted for the CWA Historical Dagger, long-listed for the Theakstons Crime Novel of the Year and nominated for a Barry Award. He is the author of the Breen & Tozer crime series set in sixties London: ‘A Song from Dead Lips', 'A House of Knives’ and ‘A Book of Scars’; and the standalone ‘The Birdwatcher'. For over twenty years he has written on popular culture and sub-culture for various publications including ‘The Observer’ and ‘The New York Times.’

This event will be chaired by Audrey Green Oakes.

“Once again William Shaw has produced a fast-moving, intriguing mystery in which the county of Kent, lovingly described, is almost a character in itself.”
-The Sunday Times Crime Club on ‘The Trawlerman.’

“One of the great rising talents of UK crime fiction.”
