Open Sesame

OPENSESAME2

Creative Folkestone are delighted to announce Open Sesame! Quarterhouse may be closed for public events, but that doesn’t mean we can’t use the building to help creativity happen.

From September, the Quarterhouse auditorium will be available for use by creatives and the community. If you are looking for a space for rehearsals, training, research & development, recording, live streaming, small meetings, wigging out or primal screaming, we can offer the auditorium to you on Mondays-Fridays between 10am-5pm. We can also arrange for you to have technical support and assistance from our performing arts and learning team.

If you would like to book some time in the space, please contact Louella Ward louellaward@creativefolkestone.org.uk

We’re offering the space for free and we’d like as many people as possible to benefit so ask for what you need but share the love. We’ll try to accommodate everybody.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please note that Creative Folkestone will be following government and industry guidelines about the use of indoor spaces during Covid19. Here is some guidance about how the auditorium will be used:

The front door to Quarterhouse will remain closed to the public. No audience will be permitted into the building. This means ‘closed event’ use only. The seats have been removed and the auditorium is offered as an empty studio space. If you would like to discuss your proposed activity please do not hesitate to contact Louella louellaward@creativefolkestone.org.uk. We want to support your activity and the community whilst remaining safe.

There will be a Duty Manager based in the foyer who will open the front door on your arrival and host your use of the auditorium. They will maintain a 2-metre distance from you and will wear a mask as necessary.

We would like you to provide a risk assessment of your activity. We can provide advice, a simple template and a risk assessment of the auditorium to help you.

You should bring your own equipment and props where possible. Hand sanitizer, gloves and wipes will be available in the foyer. Daily sanitation and cleaning controls will be in place, but we ask you to take care of yourself and your companions.

Social distancing should be maintained where possible by a 2-metre distance. You may wish to demarcate the space using seating/tape on the floor.

If close contact between artists/participants is required, we would expect you to have completed a risk assessment and follow government guidelines for your type of activity (see links below).

The measurements for the space are
Length 17m
Width 9.8m

The Duty Manager reserves the right to discontinue your booking if it contravenes Covid-19 guidelines.

We would ask that you please read the government guidelines for performing arts, venue operators, participants and community users as follows :
