Folkestone Book Festival is one of the UK's longest running literary festivals and has grown from strength to strength in recent years. In 2025, we welcomed some of the very best writers and thinkers to Folkestone including Kate Mosse, Irvine Welsh, Caroline Lucas, Jung Chang and many more.

Visit the Book Festival Events webpage to browse this year's programme and book your chosen talks, workshops, and other exciting literary events.

You can book as many events as you like - or return at any point before the festival if something new catches your eye.

Your e-tickets will be emailed to you after completion.

There are a number of options for booking tickets for the Book Festival:

In person 

The Quarterhouse box office is at: Mill Bay, CT20 1BN, open Tuesday - Friday from 10am until 5pm. Pop in and speak to one of our friendly Visitor Experience team.

Call the Box Office on 01303 760 750. Our lines are open Tuesday - Friday from 10am until 5pm.

Online 

Click here to find out what’s on, select your event and click “Book now” to be taken through to our secure online ticket office. 

Payment methods 

Debit and credit card payments can be made online, over the phone or at our box office in person.

Every time you book your tickets online, over the phone or in person, you’re invited to donate towards our programme of events for local primary schools. Your support will ensure that we continue to offer these events for free, inspiring a new generation to partake in reading and storytelling. 

Paperless ticketing 

We have gone paperless with our ticketing in an effort to become more sustainable. All tickets will be issued as e-tickets and should be presented at the event on your smart device, or you can print at home. If you have any problems or no access to a smart device, please contact our box office team who will be more than happy to help. 

Refund/exchange

Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded, except in the case of a cancelled event or a substantial alteration to the performance. 

Concessions

Concessions rates apply (where stated) to under 16s, full time students, senior citizens (aged 65+), registered unemployed and registered disabled. Proof of status will be required.

We also offer cost-of-living tickets to help anyone that wants to enjoy this year’s festival. Priced at £5, this ticket is for anyone that feels that they cannot afford the full price but would still like to be part of the festival. This is a “no questions asked” ticket and is operated on an honesty basis. 

Accessibility 

Quarterhouse aims to be accessible to all, offering a varied programme of events, catering for all of our customer's needs. It is a wheelchair accessible venue with ground floor spaces available for seated performances and two balcony wheelchair spaces available for standing events.

Quarterhouse is fitted with a Hearing Loop System. We recommend getting in contact with us prior to booking or on arrival so we can assist you with the best seats for the system. 

Quarterhouse has a lift for accessing all floors, including the bar, toilets and balcony. Toilets are fully wheelchair accessible and can be found on the ground and first floor.
