Sheetal and Saraswoti meet as teenagers in a Kathmandu refuge, survivors of child trafficking to corrupt Indian circuses and brought back across the border to a Nepal they can barely remember. The film traces their journey over 6 years as they confront the families who sold them, seek acceptance within their own country, and use their breath-taking circus skills to form Circus Kathmandu with 11 other young trafficking survivors.
The screening will be followed by a post-show talk with Director Kate McLarnon, chaired by local filmmaker Gabriella Apicella.
