Bring us your words, and we will bring you our words in return. In this experimental poetry performance, poets Michał Kamil Piotrowski and Josie Carter will write poems on the spot for a live audience, each commissioned with a single word. Bring your best words on a slip of paper and they will devise poems around them, perform them, and give them away for you to take home or do with as you please.
A live-stream of the performers' workspace will act as a literal and metaphorical window onto the act of poetry-making as they make a playfully pretentious spectacle of their usually-hidden labour. The piece will explore the vicissitudes of working as a poet under capitalism, within the attention economy, and as part of the arts-inflected regeneration-transformation-gentrification of Folkestone.
