SALT + EARTH Festival: Fiorino & Ferreira – Trickster Trailer

Working from the Trickster Trailer (a mobile arts & ecology laboratory), Fiorino & Ferreira will tour the Kent Downs proposed UNESCO Cross-Channel Geopark area conducting studio research & holding community gatherings.

The first stage of their journey, ‘what lies beneath us is before us, what lies before us is beneath us’, will include Folkestone and Wye as part of SALT+EARTH festival, before continuing north to Perry Wood, Burnham Marsh and their final destination at the river Darent.

Responding to the sites, their research will explore ideas surrounding the journey & cycles of the water; what is brought to the surface and buried again, and how this relates to human experience in the past, present and future.

Fiorino & Ferreira’s artistic research at each location will culminate in the production of site-specific, temporary sculptures that act as shelters.

From Friday 23 to Sunday 25 September, The Trickster Trailer will be parked up at Jocks Pitch, the green lawn area above The Warren, near the Bowls Club, Wear Bay Road, opposite the end of Foreland Avenue.

The Trailer will be open from 11am to 4pm with an exhibition including photography, film, sound and text work.

On Saturday 25 September, from dawn to dusk, the artists will be making a temporary, site-specific sculpture on the first beach of The Warren, nearest Folkestone. Drop in and join them for responsibly foraged liquor & tea throughout the day.
