Last week Folkestone Creative Quarter celebrated Open Quarter. A weekend that invited the public to take a look behind the scenes of Folkestone’s creative hub. Open studios are at the core of the Open Quarter weekend, not only is it a great way for an artist to promote themselves, it is an event that actively engages the public and inspires them to pursue their own creative projects. Over the weekend over 35 artists including Charlotte Harris, Alan Smith, Sam Capell, Malcolm Allen and Lucy Alice Design invited the public into working studios based in Tontine Street and The Old High Street. Workshops, exhibitions, a craft market, the ARRCC open day and many other events filled the programme across two days receiving a high foot fall with visitors travelling from London, Brighton and all areas of Kent.
