Seed Fund to support artists announced

DANCE30

Creative Folkestone is delighted to announce a new opportunity as part of Open Sesame.

Open Sesame Seed offers seed funding of £1,000 to artists and creatives living and working in East Kent. The funding is open to artists and creatives working in the performing arts including theatre, dance, music, sound, circus, comedy, spoken word, film and live art. It is offered alongside time in Folkestone Quarterhouse auditorium with technical support if required.

We are taking positive action to achieve equal opportunities and welcome applications from people of any race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, socio-economic background, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, age or disability. We actively encourage those who are currently under-represented in the arts to apply.

If a small amount of seed funding could help you kick-start an idea or project, please send an email to louellaward@creativefolkestone.org.uk telling us about yourself and describing your idea in around 600 words or with a link to a short video or sound file. We don’t have a format preference and the recorded version should have the same content as if it were written. This fund is for early-stage research and development and no performance outcome is expected.

Closing date: 9am on Friday 27 November. Projects should ideally take place between January and May 2021.

Open Sesame Seed is subject to current Covid-19 guidelines which can be found HERE.
