Sorry, this event has sold out

Bring all the family along to discover how award-winning illustrator Bruce Ingman plans and plots his illustrations for his collaborations with the author Allan Ahlberg.

Described by Sir Quentin Blake as ‘an unexpected talent that mixes innocence and sophistication . . . in something that’s distinctly his own’, Ingman has collaborated with the legendary Ahlberg for over 20 years producing bestselling titles including, The Pencil, The Runaway Dinner and this year’s long-awaited sequel, Under the Table.

He has co-written a book on Dick Bruna, the creator of the iconic rabbit, Miffy, for the celebrated series, ‘The Illustrators’, and is Head of the MA in Children’s Literature: Children’s Book Illustration at Goldsmiths, University of London. He will be joined on stage by Walker Books’ designer Daniel Devlin for a Q&A session.

Folkestone Book Festival is our annual celebration of books, ideas, reading and writing in its many magical forms. This year's festival has been curated by Jen Thatcher and James Harkin. Curating the festival for the first time, Jen and James have been inspired by Folkestone and how we can all come together through inspired discussion about global ideas, global thinking and possible futures.

________

This year's festival is for everyone and we want to make it possible for more people than ever before to be able to come together and enjoy a packed festival. To make this possible we have introduced a £5 ticket. This is a no questions asked ticket for those that may be struggling to afford events and performances.
