Opening Weekend

Folkestone Triennial 2025 began with a weekend full of energy, creativity, and celebration.
The Opening Party on Friday 18 July kicked off an ambitious summer programme with music, artist performances, and surprises, celebrating Folkestone and its creative spirit. Over the weekend, audiences enjoyed swims, performances, sound installations, and other creative events across the town – from the harbour to the hills, and beaches to backstreets. The whole town came alive with art, culture, and imagination.
The 2025 Triennial offered free and open experiences for all, inviting local residents and visitors alike to connect, explore, and celebrate what makes Folkestone extraordinary.
This opening weekend set the tone for a season that highlighted leadership in the arts, excellence in public creativity, and the transformational potential of engaging with place through art.
