Sorry, this event has sold out

Get ready for a truly dazzling evening as Kathy Lette — international bestselling author and razor-sharp comedian — brings her trademark wit and sparkle to Folkestone’s Creative Quarter. Expect glitz, laughter and star power as she switches on the Christmas lights in spectacular style.

And the fun doesn’t stop there: from 7pm-8pm, Kathy takes to the Quarterhouse stage for a riotous event packed with outrageous stories, quick-fire punchlines and her irrepressible charm. Stay on afterwards for a mince pie, mulled wine, and a special meet-and-greet and book signing. Please note: tickets are required for the 7pm Quarterhouse event.

This event will be chaired by Jo Burke. Jo is a comedian, actor and author, known for her quick wit and warm stage presence. She has performed her acclaimed solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and on tour across the UK, and her humorous books for adults and children have won her a loyal following. Whether writing or performing, Jo brings laughter and humanity to every story she tells.

There’s so much to discover – from headline talks to intimate workshops, big ideas to local voices. Check out the full programme, including our much-loved Local Talent Showcase and a new series of Creative Writing Workshops designed to spark your imagination.

We are delighted that our onsite bookseller this year is Waterstones Folkestone.

We thank our major sponsor Saga and supporting sponsors Eurotunnel, Holiday Extras and Friends of the Folkestone Book Festival along with our Education Partner, Canterbury Christ Church University for making this year's festival possible.
