Circulation Revisited: The Circulation of Blood

Book this event online or email the box office at boxoffice@creativefolkestone.org.uk

When, in the early 17th century, Folkestone’s famous son, William Harvey, discovered the circulation of blood, circulation as an idea was ‘in the air’, reflecting humanity becoming more responsible for its own affairs, rather than having life done to it. Today, the question explored by our three speakers is whether circulation is caused or autonomous as concerns traffic, blood and capital.

Speakers in the series:

9 September: Christopher Houghton Budd, economic and monetary historian, the circulation of capital.

16 September: Branko Furst, vascular anesthesiologist, the circulation of blood.

23 September: John Letherland, Urban Designer and Masterplanner, the circulation of traffic.
