Sorry, this event has sold out

Join our guest expert, Jennifer Thatcher, for her tour and thoughts on Creative Folkestone Triennial 2021.

Jennifer is an art historian, critic and public programmes curator. She holds an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art and is currently completing her AHRC-funded PhD at the University of Edinburgh, researching the history of the artist interview. She is also course leader for the Gap Programme at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London.

She publishes regularly as an art critic, including in Art Monthly, ArtReview and ARTnews magazines, and was previously Managing Editor of contemporary magazine. A selection of her artist interviews was published in Art Monthly’s anthology Talking Art 2.

She curated the public programmes for the 2014 and 2017 editions of the Folkestone Triennial, and was a co-curator of the 2016 Whitstable Biennale.

Operating throughout Folkestone Triennial, tours are free to join but booking is essential.

Our guided tours are designed to include a number of artworks and will typically cover around 2km in distance. Our tour guides will do their best to accommodate every one on the tour but please note that due to the historic nature of the town there may be some steps or uneven surfaces to negotiate. Tours will take place rain or shine, so don’t forget to prepare for the Great British weather by bringing a rain coat and maybe even sun cream.

The majority of the tours will start at Quarterhouse unless otherwise stated. The tour may not end back where you started so please be aware of this when you plan your visit. Our guides can inform you of the routes you will take when you arrive.

If you have any questions or concerns about the guided tours please do not hesitate to contact us and one of our team will get back to you boxoffice@creativefolkestone.org.uk.
