Jarred McGinnis: The Art of Writing Together

WORKSHOP Jarred McGinnis: The Art of Writing Together

Book this event online or email the box office at boxoffice@creativefolkestone.org.uk

What stories do we carry about ourselves – and what might someone else remember differently?

In this bold and original creative writing workshop, acclaimed novelist Jarred McGinnis invites you to bring a writing partner – a friend, sibling, parent, partner or someone you simply trust with a story.

Working in pairs, you’ll explore shared memory, lived experience, perception and the fascinating gaps between how we understand ourselves and how others see us. Through dynamic prompts and guided exercises, you’ll begin shaping vivid creative work from real-life material.

Named by The Guardian as one of the UK’s ten best emerging writers, Jarred is the award-winning author of The Coward. His new novel There Is No Meant to Be is hailed as a “moving and stylistically daring account of the author’s paralysing accident and its aftermath”.

Expect insight, surprise and stories waiting to be uncovered.
