Raise a glass to celebrate the official launch of SALT Festival of the Sea & Environment and the world premiere of The Folkestone Sea Shanty composed and performed by St Peter’s School with local musicians Jack Pound and Chris Tophill.
St. Peter's Primary school overlooks Folkestone Harbour. Over the years, many pupils, parents and relatives have been involved in the fishing industry, ferries, coastal watch and the lifeboat crew. The teachers will tell you: the sea is a part of our heritage. Chris Tophill in his role as Salt Peter has based chilling stories on local myths from Folkestone’s Channel Port past – a subject that has also inspired songs written by Jack Pound.
Taking place at The Clearing, Quarterhouse.
