Guided Tours with Matt James

Sorry, this event has sold out

Join explorer Matt James for a playful, exploratory and educational tour of Folkestone Triennial 2021 artworks. Matt has worked in a variety of educational settings with learners of all ages and abilities. Having also been around the world in eighty days and explored eighty countries, Matt chose to move to Folkestone in 2010 where he enjoys its sense of space.

Operating throughout Folkestone Triennial, our tours are free to join but booking is essential.

The majority of tours will depart at Quarterhouse Box Office; however the following guided tours start at Folkestone Central train station:

Sunday 08 August, 2pm
Sunday 22 August, 2pm
Sunday 29 August, 10am
Sunday 26 September, 10am
Sunday 03 October, 10am
Sunday 17 October, 2pm

Our guided tours are designed to include a number of artworks and will typically cover around 2km in distance. Our tour guides will do their best to accommodate every one on the tour but please note that due to the historic nature of the town there may be some steps or uneven surfaces to negotiate. Tours will take place rain or shine, so don’t forget to prepare for the Great British weather by bringing a rain coat and maybe even sun cream.

The tour may not end back where you started so please be aware of this when you plan your visit. Our guides can inform you of the routes you will take when you arrive.

If you have any questions or concerns about the guided tours please do not hesitate to contact us and one of our team will get back to you boxoffice@creativefolkestone.org.uk
