Join us for a free family workshop led by artist Sam Ayres. Drop in any time between 11am and 2pm to take part in a creative activity inspired by history and change. Together we will use charcoal and drawing to explore how the past connects with the present.
Looking at works in the Triennial and examples from history, you will be invited to think about how people’s hopes and frustrations have changed over time. What is different today, and what has stayed the same? Through drawing, you will map your own thoughts and feelings.
At the end of the workshop, everyone’s drawings will come together to form one large collaborative map. This ‘landscape of ideas’ will show how families see the past, present and future, all woven together through art.
