Have you ever wanted to learn more about the art of drag kinging and possibly create a character yourself?
In Becoming Royalty, participants will delve into the world of drag by creating their own drag king person alongside ongoing group discussion, asking questions like "How can drag be a tool for reclaiming narratives and challenging societal norms, especially in relation to gaze?" and "What does the term Drag King mean to you personally?".
This three hour workshop will consist of character exercises, a drag king make-up tutorial, and will finish with a photoshoot in your new character persona to take home with you!
The workshop is suitable for those newly interested in drag kinging, whether for stage or just for a day!
Pecs Drag Kings are an all-women and non-binary theatre and cabaret company who've been creating critically acclaimed shows for the LGBTQIA+ community since 2013. Through our drag king cabarets and theatre shows, we explore gender identities, politics and sexuality to create cultural space for queer women, trans and nonbinary people.
