Now Recruiting: Chief Executive Officer of Creative Folkestone

Leading the next chapter of creativity, culture and community in Folkestone

Creative Folkestone is seeking an inspiring and forward-thinking leader to become its next Chief Executive Officer; someone well-suited to guide the organisation through its next chapter of artistic ambition, community impact and long term sustainability. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of one of the UK’s most distinctive place-based arts organisations, working where culture, regeneration and community meet.

The CEO will lead Creative Folkestone in delivering its charitable mission and artistic vision, while shaping strategy, partnerships and long term planning. The role brings together creative and strategic leadership with organisational oversight and advocacy. Working closely with Trustees, staff, artists, funders and partners, the CEO will support the delivery of major programmes and projects, oversee organisational performance and act as a visible ambassador for Creative Folkestone locally, nationally and internationally.

Founded by Sir Roger De Haan, Creative Folkestone has spent more than two decades helping shape the town through creativity and culture. Today, the organisation delivers major cultural activity including the Folkestone Triennial, the Folkestone Artworks collection, festivals, learning programmes and community initiatives such as the Folkestone Book Festival and Folkestone is a Library. Alongside this, Creative Folkestone stewards Prospect Cottage, former home of prolific artist and activist Derek Jarman, and has cultivated a thriving community of artists and makers across the Creative Quarter.

This is an opportunity to lead an organisation committed to using creativity to shape places, communities and futures.
