This Christmas, Quarterhouse is getting festive with award-winning puppetry and visual theatre company Smoking Apples to bring a much-loved story to the stage.
Their enchanting reinvention of A Christmas Carol invites families into the world of Ebenezer Scrooge, where magical spirits, familiar characters and extraordinary puppetry bring Dickens’ classic tale to life in a completely new way.

Follow Scrooge as he journeys through Christmas past, present and future, meeting Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and a host of ghostly visitors along the way. With Smoking Apples’ distinctive blend of storytelling, visual theatre and beautifully crafted puppetry, audiences can expect a warm, imaginative and wonderfully theatrical retelling of a story that has become part of Christmas itself.
At the heart of the show is everything we love about the festive season - gathering together, sharing stories and being reminded that even the biggest Bah Humbug can rediscover a little Christmas spirit.

Smoking Apples have built a reputation for creating inventive, visually striking theatre, transforming objects and puppets into vivid characters and worlds. Their work has been described as “masterful” by Pulse Productions, while audiences have called this production “magical and majestic” and recommended it as a festive treat for the whole family.
Wrap up warm, bring the family and join us at Quarterhouse for a Christmas adventure through past, present and future.
