ARTiculation

We would be delighted if you were able to join us for the ARTiculation 2014 South of England Regional Heat at Quarterhouse on Tuesday 4 February, 3.30pm - 6.00pm, one of the eight Regional Heats being held around the country, that this year will include participants from seven schools from across the South East. As a Creative Quarter tenant your presence and support would mean a lot to these young people.

The ARTiculation Prize is an annual event designed to promote the appreciation and discussion of art. The competition seeks to engage students, regardless of background or experience, with art and to develop their confidence and ability to express their opinions, thoughts and conclusions. Each student is invited to deliver a ten minute presentation to an interested audience about a work of art, artefact or architecture of their choice. Our adjudicator Alastair Upton, Creative Foundation Chief Executive, will have the hard task to assess each presentation as a whole, looking at content, structure and delivery.

One student from each of the eight Regional Heats will be selected to speak at the final, which is part of the ARTiculation Conference, at the University of Cambridge. This conference is open to all sixth form students and is designed to encourage debate and engagement with the arts.

The event is free but we would be more than grateful if you could RSVP to Owen at owenkimm@creativefoundation.org.uk or call 01303 842198.

Refreshments will be served before and during the event.

We look forward to seeing you.
