Introducing SALT + EARTH: Festival of Landscape, Seascape & The Environment

Folkestone Coastal amp Sound Mirror Cross Channel Geopark Explore Kent

We are embarking on a unique collaboration with Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Kent AONB) and Folkestone Fringe: SALT + EARTH: Festival of Landscape, Seascape & The Environment

This new festival will invite local residents and visitors to Kent to explore the environment on their doorstep, engage with the climate emergency, and connect with the communities that live in and around the Kent Downs AONB

Taking place from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 September 2022, SALT + EARTH includes new artworks, walks, workshops and community gatherings from local artists and organisations.

Selected artists include: Alison Neighbour, Anne Deeming, Craig Gell, Dr. Legumes, Fiorino & Ferreira, Judith Anketell, Manuel Vason, Origins Untold, Rubiane Maia, Sara Trillo, Aaron Kobb and SITE.

Drawing on a wide range of themes and ideas that connect people to the landscape, these artists and collectives will also help to raise the profile of a bid by the Kent Downs AONB and Parc Naturel Régional des Caps et Marais d’Opale in France to become the world’s first Cross-Channel UNESCO Global Geopark.

The full programme and any booking information will be announced in early September 2022.

SALT + EARTH: Festival of Landscape, Seascape & The Environment is co-curated by Creative Folkestone and Folkestone Fringe in partnership with Kent Downs AONB.
