The Robing Room was established locally in 2014 by Janet Robinson, moving into the Glassworks Folkestone in 2018. While still offering exclusively handmade bespoke items for the bridal party and individual clients, now also working closely with Costume Designers for Stage and TV.
Pattern cutting, Sample making and Consultancy is provided for Independent Design Businesses, requiring support to create and realise their final collections ready for retail.
Short Training Sessions on a 1 to 1 basis or for small groups are offered in the studio for those seeking individual and alternative Specialist Education or CPD in the Fashion Industry.
With a career spanning 40 years within the Fashion Industry in the South East, clients including Marks & Spencer, Basso & Brooke, Tallulah & Hope and Ridley London and as a Tutor in some of the greatest Universities in the UK including UAL, UCA and UAB, as HE Tutor. Janet is now working very closely with Fashion and Apparel Apprenticeship schemes offered in the UK, forever supporting the return of Quality Sewing and Making Skills to the Community. Clients include Margaret Howell and Rolls Royce.
