Ali Hodgkinson is a figurative artist living and working in Folkestone, her practice takes inspiration from people and places to produce vibrant paintings. Teaching art to children, adults and families since 2015 under Art with Ali, offering drawing and painting classes, exploring mark-making, tone, colour mixing and paint handling. Working from observation and imagination and learning a little bit about famous artists and their works too.
Whatever their age, Ali teaches students the technical skills that are the bedrock of art practice - perspective, light and shadow, colour mixing, paint handling - while encouraging them to embrace their individuality and own way of seeing. After all, it is uniqueness that takes art from good to great.
